We are a family based chiropractic clinic catering to a wide range of individuals and their various needs. At Alex City Chiropractic we focus on the function of your body via detection and correction of Vertebral Subluxations, which are in essence dysfunctional segments of your spine.

There are two things we pride ourselves on, firstly our patient centered approach to care, and secondly, being thorough throughout your examination and subsequent treatment protocols. It is with these two ideals in mind that you can be assured you are in good hands.

Alex City Chiropractic operates on a “fee for service“ basis. This means all of the services we provide are paid for in full by the patient at the time of the office visit. We then either bill those services electronically to your insurance company, if we are able, or we provide you with the necessary paperwork to bill them yourself. Any reimbursement that is received returns directly to you, NOT our office.

Although this may seem like it costs more upfront, in the long run it actually costs LESS for you to be a patient in our office. Because of the reduction in overhead on our part in billing and handling your insurance, we can pass that savings along to YOU as the consumer or patient, thereby reducing the total cost of the office visit. In most cases our office visit fee of $30 is actually less than the majority of current insurance co-pays which typically range from $35-$50.

Our office has operated this way since we opened in April 2005, and we have had great success doing this and have continued to keep our office visit fees very reasonable. A typical first visit WITHOUT X-rays is $60. WITH X-rays it is $140, this includes the examination and consultation, any tests, and the first adjustment. X-rays are certainly not required for everyone, however we always take x-rays when necessary so we can render safe and effective care. The need for any tests or X-rays is always at the discretion of the doctor on a case by case basis determined by examination and history of each patient.

Meet Our Chiropractor

Dr. Doug Roberts, the owner and founder of Alex City Chiropractic, has been practicing in Alex City since 2005. He is an Indiana native who bumped around the Midwest until age 18, when he settled in South Carolina for college. Upon receiving his college degree, Doug then headed to Life College of Chiropractic in Georgia, where he graduated in 1996. Doug practiced in New Hampshire until 2004 and then he and his family gladly gave up the freezing weather for the warmer climates of Alabama. Alex City Chiropractic was opened in 2005 and is still in the very same location. He has always enjoyed working on patients of all ages and is very focused on each individual patient’s need. Everyone loves Dr. Doug!

Doug has many creative talents, including wood working and can build or rebuild, well, just about anything. He is also a great mechanic, creates beautiful wire sculptures, and thoroughly enjoys a long motorcycle ride.
